skin stuff I never thought about tbh

Right so I posted about water the other day and someone in the comments mentioned skin and I went down a bit of a rabbit hole. I'm pure not a skin person. Like my routine is SPF and hope for the best. But apparently how much water you're actually absorbing matters more than just hitting your 2L. Something about cells needing electrolytes to actually hold onto the fluid? I dunno, I'm not a dermatologist. But it made sense to me from a training angle — we talk about hydration for performance all the time and never think about what it's doing to your skin. I've been heavy sweating through summer sessions and honestly my skin has looked a bit... tired. Dry around the forehead, that kind of thing. Started adding a pinch of salt to my morning water (I know, sounds mad) and making sure I'm not just chugging and then peeing it all out immediately. Two weeks in and to be fair I think there's something to it. Could be placebo. Probably is partly. But my skin feels less tight after training so I'm keeping it going.

never really clocked it til I started eating more fermented stuff — miso, kimchi, that kind of thing. skin did something different but honestly couldn't tell you if it was that or just drinking less beer that week 🤔

yeah the electrolyte thing tracks, I notice my skin looks rough in heavy training blocks more than anything else
