green smoothie that doesn't taste like a lawn

Right so Kirsty bought matcha a while back for herself and I've basically colonised it at this point. Started using it in the kids' stuff — the whole monster food thing — but this week I finally just made a proper smoothie with it for myself after the gym and honestly it does the job. It's dead simple. Frozen mango, a banana, oat milk, big spoonful of matcha powder, and I chucked in some spinach because I had it and I'm that kind of person apparently. Blitz it and it comes out this proper green colour that Alfie absolutely refused to go near 😂 which to be fair is fair enough, it does look a bit aggressive. Tastes fine though — the mango does most of the heavy lifting, you barely get the matcha, just a wee earthy thing in the background. I've been having it maybe three mornings this week and I feel alright on it. Not claiming it's changed my life or anything, just — it works for me, fits in before the school run chaos starts. Frozen mango — big handful. 1 banana. Oat milk — enough to get it moving, maybe 200ml. 1 heaped tsp matcha. Handful of spinach if you're feeling bold. Blend. Done. Difficulty level: you need a blender and that's genuinely it.

mango and matcha is a solid combo, I'd swap the banana for pineapple if you want it less sweet

do you sift the matcha first or just chuck it straight in?

i always just chuck it straight in if it's going in a blender, sifting is more for lattes

spinach in it is the move, you genuinely can't taste it
